Outside the Lines Planters

Your plants deserve some crochet love too!
The “Outside the Lines” Planters are a set of fun planter covers you can make in any size, yarn weight, or color combo imaginable. The pattern is written for two different styles – the first two only require changing colors from row to row, while the third one uses the tapestry crochet technique.

This is the perfect project to get used to the waistcoat stitch – here's a detailed video tutorial on how to master this stitch.

This pattern is available in English only and uses standard US crochet terminology.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Small planter: 6.25 by 19.75 inches or 16 by 50 cm
Large planter: 7 by 22 inches or 18 by 56 cm

DIFFICULTY
Advanced beginner

MATERIALS
• Yarn & hook: This pattern works great with any weight yarn and appropriate hook! I used super bulky weight yarn and my 3.5 mm hook.

YARDAGE
Small striped planter: 183 yds or 167 m of ultramarine, and 29 yds or 26 m of aqua
Large diamonds planter: 73 yds or 66 m of ultramarine, and 81 yds or 74 m of aqua
Large striped planter: 25 yds or 22 m of ultramarine and 201 yds or 183 m of aqua

Yardages and measurements listed above reflect the designer sample (one set of 3 planter covers using super bulky yarn). You may use any yarn weight with an appropriate hook size. If your gauge is different, your finished measurements and required yardage will also vary.
